The 2022 iteration of Consensus is all set to take place in Austin, Texas over the course of four eventful days (i.e. June 9-12). Curated and produced by crypto media giant CoinDesk, Consensus is widely considered to be the go to event for all things crypto and blockchain.
This year’s conference will see some of the most well known names from the global finance arena — including FTX’s Sam Bankman Fried, PayPal’s Dan Schulman, CoinShares’ Meltem Demirors, Binance’s Changpeng Zhao, amongst many others — discuss a wide range of topics including investing, NFTs, DeFi, regulation, Web 3, the metaverse and their effects on commerce, culture and communities.
Furthermore, Consensus 2022 will also see a number of developers, creators, investors, policymakers, executives and academics discuss and celebrate many different facets of crypto tech in one of America’s most vibrant locations.

Workshops you can’t miss
Fetch.ai Ecosystem Development Workshop
This 2-day event will take place between June 10 – 11 and will help educate attendees about Fetch.ai’s holistic vision regarding technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Blockchain based toolkits so as to help bring automation to any chain/protocol.
Key showcases of the event will include a demonstration of the Fetch.ai network, a Cosmos SDK based chain, that affords developers from any background (solidity or rust) to deploy novel decentralized applications (dApps) on the Fetch.ai network or otherwise. A full day event that will start at 10:00 am on June 11, the Helium House ATX will bring members of the rapidly growing Helium community under one roof to celebrate the growth of The People’s Network.
In brief, The People’s Network can be described as the world’s first peer-to-peer wireless ecosystem providing its users with a secure and cost-effective means for low-power Internet of Things (IoT) devices to send and receive data using traditional internet services.
Health 3.0: How Decentralization Will Re-Invent Healthcare
Scheduled to take place on June 10 between 4:00 – 5:30 p.m, Health 3.0 can be thought of as a Web3 initiative that leverages decentralized business models and technologies so as to help users take control of their personal healthcare data, especially when it comes to owing, sharing and monetizing their info.
The event is free to attend and has been curated by the DecentraTech Collective. During the session, attendees will witness a host of presentations delivered by innovative startups followed by a discussion and Q&A with the presenters.
Web3 Startup Crawl
Hosted by the Capital Factory, the Web3 Startup Crawl is a meetup initiative that seeks to bring together Texas’ fledgling Web3 community. Starting at 6 pm and ending at 9 pm on June 10, the event is open to everyone taking part in Consensus 2022 and is the perfect way for introverts and extroverts to come together and network with one another.
Texas Blockchain Welcome Reception
A precursor of sorts to the main Consensus conference, the Texas Blockchain Welcome is an event hosted by a community of students and professionals from The University of Texas at Austin. The goal of the event is to have an impact on students, crypto enthusiasts by introducing them to the core concepts surrounding blockchain/Web3.
