The “First Trip” demo of the Otherside Meta, a highly interactive and interoperable metaverse game by Yuga Labs, would be released on Saturday, July 16.
The Otherside Meta “First Trip” Demo: Details
In a tweet, the “First Trip” will demonstrate the Otherside platform’s technical capabilities, offering NFT and gaming fans a sneak peek into their expansive and rewarding environment. The demo will be accessible through the Chrome browser. It will allow thousands of fans to plug in and play in a specifically built play area.
All Otherside Meta avatars called “Voyageurs” will be in high resolution with diverse capabilities. They can run, jump, walk, and emote within their play area.
According to the platform’s creator, the play area will have realistic, real-time voice chat with spatial audio built to effectively handle large crowds. The metaverse can be live-streamed through a private gateway to all Voyageur fans across the globe.
When writing, whether the demo will open for the foreseeable future has not been clarified. At the same time, Yuga Labs, the metaverse’s developer, has not specified exactly when the play area for the entire world will be released.
However, what’s clear is that at some point, once the game is launched, users would be free to import other compatible NFTs from different Ethereum-based environments and use them on the game. The Otherside Meta is interoperable by default. Moreover, it is flexible by merging massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) and web3-enabled virtual worlds.
The Otherside Meta is still in Development
Currently, the Otherside Meta is still in development. Once live, it shall introduce dynamic NFTs where ownership of certain elements will affect the owner’s rewards and game productivity.
Once officially launched, it shall comprise five regions–Biogenic Swamp, Chemical Goo, Rainbow Atmos, Cosmic Dream, and Infinite Expanse. Each area will have its biomes, rare items, and resources. Besides, the game shall have the famous Koda creatures—with surprising effects– and alien hybrids with a high affinity to biomes.
Central to the Otherside Meta will be the “Otherdeed” digital land. They are listed on OpenSea with a floor price of 2.84 ETH, or roughly $3k at spot rates.
