Introduction

Philcoin, a blockchain platform issuing the world’s first philanthropic token, hosted one of South Africa’s biggest crypto adoption campaigns.

The event, which took place in Johannesburg, has attracted over 12.5k people, including more than 5k graduates drawn from several high-profile universities and learning institutions in the country. In attendance were Philcoin’s brand ambassadors and their corporate team. Each session was streamed live to over 28 countries. The team wanted to empower participants by equipping them with a superior alternative that will change their way of giving through “The People Coin”.

Dunstan Teo, the co-founder of Philcoin, said the team is using the event to bring their token to thousands of crypto enthusiasts, especially in Africa, whose role in crypto is rapidly growing. Besides helping attendees build their financial sovereignty and take control of their futures, Dunstan says this event presented an opportunity for users to explore other cryptocurrencies and acquire them during this bear market.

“Africa is a massive player within the crypto space. With the bear market happening, the time is ripe for people to buy into crypto at the cheapest prices we’ve seen in a while. The Philcoin team is thrilled about the opportunity to launch in Africa and bring our currency before thousands of crypto enthusiasts. We know this will be the start of an incredible journey with their communities, helping to build financial sovereignty for all while also changing the way giving happens.”

Philcoin held exciting sessions with Dr. Victor Phume of Zallywood Holdings, which is present in 20 countries with a reach of over 100 million, Mr. Subramanya Jois, the founder of Aurigraph DLT Corp that’s registered in the U.S., Ambassador Sarah Munyi, the President of Youth in Africa and Dr. David Molapo, Founder of the I Can Leadership Institute Africa and CEO of I CAN 4IR.

Macro statistics in South Africa point to high unemployment rates of over 34 percent. In light of this worrying data, Philcoin aims to create a means for users to earn while transacting. By meeting with various influencers in South Africa and Africa, the team plans to empower youth in the country and the continent, allowing them to take charge. At the core of their campaign is the PHL token that was recently listed on MEXC Global, a top cryptocurrency exchange. Users who transact on the platform earn their native token with each transfer or referral and download of PHILApp.
